McTaggart Construction has completed 41 homes at West Lothian Council’s new-build housing site in Winchburgh.
The project was undertaken as part of the new Winchburgh Core Development Area (CDA).
The site is being built in tandem with another affordable housing (RSL) development by the Wheatley Group. Between the two developments, there will be 96 new rented homes delivered through land that was supplied by the lead developer, Winchburgh Developments Ltd, via the Council’s affordable housing policy.
In total, West Lothian Council is building over 1000 new council homes across all ward areas as part of its’ new-build affordable housing programme – making the local authority one of Scotland’s largest providers of new build, council properties.
Executive councillor for services for the community, George Paul said: “Winchburgh is one of West Lothian’s core development areas and is extremely popular with people looking to move into the village. We are delighted that work has been completed on the site and hope that people will enjoy their new home.
“A key part of the area’s expansion is affordable housing and this development will provide much needed council housing for local people.”
