School children from Auchinairn Primary School in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow saw firsthand how a housing development takes shape.
McTaggart Construction invited children from Auchinairn Primary School to visit their nearby site where they are constructing 36 flats and 10 houses for Link Housing Association.
The children were kitted out in hard hats and high-vis vests and given a safety induction before being escorted onto the site, complete with site plans of the development.
The children were shown round the site with the Site Manager explaining to them what they could see now and what construction they could expect to see over the coming months. After a demonstration by a Telehandler operator they got a hands-on demonstration by a bricklayer before being handed the trowel and having a go themselves.
The project is due to complete in October 2012 and children will be back before then to see how much it has changed.
